Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan met with Mr. Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), in Muscat on Friday. The meeting was followed by an Iftar dinner hosted by Al Rawas in honor of the visiting minister.
In addition to the meeting, the Embassy of Pakistan, in collaboration with OCCI, organized a B2B networking session, bringing together Pakistani business delegates and Omani businessmen to explore trade opportunities. The session aimed to foster stronger commercial relationships between the two nations.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Oman. Chairman Faisal Al Rawas expressed OCCI’s full support for the initiative, emphasizing his desire to see Omani markets filled with high-quality Pakistani products. Both sides agreed to reactivate the Joint Business Council between OCCI and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to facilitate greater economic cooperation.
Minister Jam Kamal Khan stressed that current trade statistics do not reflect the true potential of the relationship between Pakistan and Oman. He noted that by eliminating logistical and communication barriers, the current trade volume could easily be tripled. The key, he suggested, lies in strengthening the connectivity between the chambers of commerce of both countries.
Chairman Al Rawas supported the minister’s views, assuring that platforms such as the Joint Business Council would be used to enhance trade ties. He also encouraged well-established Pakistani businesses and brands to consider setting up operations in Oman, pointing out the country’s favorable investment climate.
After the meeting, both dignitaries spent two hours engaging with business representatives during the B2B networking session. They discussed various products and praised the quality and range of Pakistani goods, highlighting the potential for growth in trade and investment.
This visit marks an important step toward expanding trade and investment opportunities between Pakistan and Oman, strengthening the economic ties between the two nations.
