The Military Technological College (MTC) in Muscat held a ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of several new technical laboratories. The event, under the auspices of Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the MTC, was part of the ongoing modernization and development efforts of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) under the reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
The ceremony included a briefing on the establishment of the new laboratories, which align with Oman Vision 2040. The project aims to introduce new academic disciplines in key areas such as environment-friendly energy, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, and cybersecurity. This initiative is part of broader efforts to upgrade the college’s educational system and ensure that the SAF is equipped with the latest technological expertise.
