ISLAMABAD: Chinese telecom giant Huawei, in collaboration with the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has announced an ambitious initiative to provide IT training to 300,000 Pakistanis.
The program aims to teach advanced IT skills to 60,000 individuals, while 240,000 others will receive basic IT training. This initiative is designed to enhance Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, boost IT exports, and create new employment opportunities.
Training the youth with advanced technical skills is a priority for the government, and Huawei, along with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), will introduce state-of-the-art IT courses in 15 universities across the country. SIFC will play a key role in attracting investment and supporting the growth of the telecom sector.
Experts believe this project will serve as a significant milestone in advancing Pakistan’s digital development.
In a recent meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the government reaffirmed its commitment to equipping youth with modern ICT skills, recognizing their pivotal role in driving the digital revolution and technological progress in the country.
