Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025 to Focus on Sustainable Urban Development and Technology Integration

The eighth edition of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025 will begin on April 15, under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister. The two-day summit will be held at the Sheraton Hotel and will bring together local and international experts in smart urban development, sustainability, and technology.

Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, highlighted the summit as a key event for Bahrain, aiming to integrate global expertise with the Kingdom’s local experience in smart urban development. The event will feature panel sessions discussing successful international smart city models, artificial intelligence, and sustainable urban practices.

The summit will also include an interactive technology exhibition and an awards ceremony to recognize outstanding achievements in urban innovation and sustainability. Nine government entities from Bahrain are participating, reinforcing the country’s commitment to advancing digital and environmental transformation in urban planning.

Regional participation will include countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Djibouti, and the Arab Towns Organisation, fostering greater cooperation in smart urban planning and sustainable solutions. The agenda will cover over twenty topics, including AI, IoT, smart mobility, fintech, cybersecurity, and heritage preservation in urban environments.

The accompanying exhibition will feature over 15 exhibitors showcasing smart solutions across transportation, energy, and digital governance, allowing visitors to engage directly with project owners. The summit will also announce the winners of the fifth Bahrain Smart Cities Awards, recognizing excellence in smart city innovations.

Strategic partners supporting the summit include Beyon, Batelco, Tamkeen, Naseej, and GPIC, with the Bahrain Society of Engineers serving as a knowledge partner. The summit aims to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors for a sustainable urban future.
