e& Egypt Launches Instant Cross-Border Remittance Service in Partnership with Banque du Caire

e& Egypt has launched a new cross-border remittance feature within its digital wallet, enabling users in Egypt to receive instant payments from the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The new service eliminates the need for physical branches or intermediary agents, providing a seamless and direct method for receiving funds via mobile devices.

This feature, developed in collaboration with Banque du Caire, Egypt’s banking partner for the initiative, aligns with the Central Bank of Egypt’s broader efforts to reduce the country’s reliance on cash and increase financial inclusion. Given that Egypt is one of the top recipients of remittances, especially from the Gulf countries, speed and accessibility are crucial to the success of this service.

e& Egypt becomes the first member of the e& Group’s regional network to offer such instant international wallet-based transfers. By integrating UAE and Saudi Arabia remittance corridors, the company aims to address the financial needs of individuals who depend on overseas remittances. The new service focuses not only on reducing transfer times but also on promoting trust in digital platforms by offering secure and efficient solutions. e& Egypt also plans to expand to additional remittance corridors in the future.

Along with the launch of the service, e& Egypt has rolled out a promotional campaign, offering prize incentives of up to EGP 1 million. While these incentives are part of a limited-time marketing initiative, they do not affect the core functionality of the remittance feature.

By embedding international transfers directly into a mobile wallet, e& Egypt simplifies a traditionally cumbersome and delayed process, further contributing to the digitization of financial services in a region that remains largely dependent on cash transactions.
