Jordan’s Mobile Phone Imports Drop Despite Stable Value in Q1 2025

Jordan imported 306,000 mobile phones in the first quarter of 2025, valued at JD38.6 million, according to the Association of Mobiles and Accessories Investors (Vision). While the value remains almost unchanged from Q1 2024, the quantity dropped significantly from 450,000 units last year. Ahmad Alloush, President of the Association, attributed the decline in volume to rising global mobile phone prices at the start of 2025.

The average smartphone price in early 2025 reached around $830 in the US, $900 in South Korea, and $560 in China. Alloush noted that variations in consumer demand contribute to the price differences, with high-end smartphones leading sales in markets like the US and South Korea, while mid-range and budget models dominate in China.
