In a significant move to strengthen public-private sector collaboration and contribute to Kuwait Vision 2035, Kuwait Airways has entered into a landmark strategic partnership with FASTtelco, a subsidiary of Ooredoo Kuwait. This collaboration marks a pivotal step forward in advancing national efforts to digitalize the media and aviation industries, while aligning with Kuwait’s broader goals of modernizing key sectors.
This partnership highlights Kuwait Airways’ commitment to enhancing the passenger experience while promoting Kuwait’s cultural and digital heritage on a global platform. At the heart of this alliance is the integration of content from Platform 51—a digital media initiative developed by the Ministry of Information and powered by FASTtelco. FASTtelco, in close cooperation with government entities, launched Platform 51 to preserve and share Kuwait’s rich media legacy through innovative digital storytelling. As part of the collaboration, Platform 51 content will now be available through Kuwait Airways’ in-flight entertainment system, allowing passengers worldwide to experience Kuwait’s national media.
The announcement took place in the presence of Saad Nafel Al-Azmi, Assistant Undersecretary for Media Services and New Media Sector at the Ministry of Information, who also leads the Coordinating Committee for Platform 51. Ooredoo Kuwait continues to champion the digital transformation of the country, enhancing the customer experience and driving innovation across multiple sectors.
Capt. Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan, Chairman of Kuwait Airways, emphasized the importance of private sector partnerships in national development. “Platform 51 is a trailblazing media initiative, and we are thrilled to showcase its content to the world, particularly as we approach the summer travel season. This collaboration represents the beginning of deeper, innovation-led partnerships that will enhance our customer experience and further position Kuwait as a regional leader in digital and media services.”
Abdulaziz Yaqoub Al-Babtain, CEO of Ooredoo Kuwait, reaffirmed Ooredoo’s dedication to advancing Kuwait’s digital landscape. “With this partnership, we are helping deliver innovative telecom solutions that support the government’s vision for a sustainable digital economy. The success of Platform 51 demonstrates how technology and media can merge to create a replicable model for national progress. Ooredoo remains committed to supporting projects that empower local talent and contribute to building a resilient digital future.”
