Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has announced the launch of the ‘Multiple Wallets per Mobile Number’ feature within the Qatar Mobile Payment (QMP) system, a move in line with the Third Financial Sector Strategy. This new feature allows users to open two wallets using the same mobile number from different payment service providers. Users can also set a default account for incoming transfers and manage their wallets easily.
This development is aimed at improving the user experience, fostering competition, and driving innovation within the mobile payment space. QCB emphasized that the feature supports financial inclusion, which aligns with the bank’s ongoing efforts to enhance mobile payment services in Qatar.
