Saudi Arabia has reached a new global milestone in artificial intelligence, as outlined in the AI Index Report 2025 by Stanford University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). The Kingdom ranked first globally in empowering women in AI, reflecting successful national policies promoting female participation and leadership in technology. This achievement aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, supported by advanced training programs and professional development initiatives for women in AI.
The report also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s strong performance in AI job growth, talent attraction, and AI model development. The Kingdom ranked third globally in AI job growth for 2024, fourth in the number of leading AI models, and eighth in attracting AI talent. Saudi Arabia is one of only seven countries publishing advanced AI models, alongside the United States, China, France, Canada, and Korea.
These accomplishments reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to becoming a global leader in AI, supported by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). Through policy frameworks, investment, and innovation, SDAIA continues to strengthen the Kingdom’s AI capabilities and digital infrastructure, contributing to Vision 2030 goals. The authority’s initiatives, including the “Elevate” program with Google Cloud, aim to empower over 25,000 women in technology and AI.
