Trend Micro Opens New Office in Qatar to Strengthen Cybersecurity and Support Digital Transformation

Trend Micro, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, has officially opened its new office in Qatar, marking a strategic milestone for its North Gulf operations. This expansion underscores Trend Micro’s commitment to bolstering cybersecurity resilience and supporting the digital transformation efforts aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the region’s broader digital goals.

The inauguration event, held last week, featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Sami Al Shammari, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information. The event also brought together industry leaders, key Trend Micro customers, and strategic partners, signaling strong collective support for advancing cybersecurity in the region. Additionally, Trend Micro hosted an exclusive edition of its Innovist Forum, gathering cybersecurity experts to discuss the latest cyber threats, emerging trends, and strategies that will shape the future of digital security in the region.

“As cyber threats continue to evolve, expanding our presence in key markets is critical to ensuring businesses and governments have access to world-class security solutions,” said Dhanya Thakkar, Executive Vice President of North America and AMEA Sales at Trend Micro. “This hub in Qatar strengthens our commitment to global cybersecurity resilience, fostering innovation and collaboration that extend beyond regional borders.”

The opening of Trend Micro’s office in Qatar marks a significant step in the company’s mission to improve cyber resilience for businesses in the region. The new North Gulf hub will also support the company’s goal of expanding its local workforce, with plans to double the business team and introduce new services to better meet the region’s growing cybersecurity needs.

In addition, Trend Micro is focusing on regional talent development through initiatives like the CyberGate internship program, designed to address the cybersecurity skills gap in collaboration with both public and private sectors.

“Our new office in Qatar solidifies our commitment to the North Gulf region and enhances our role in its cybersecurity ecosystem,” said Tarek Jammoul, Country Director for North Gulf and Levant at Trend Micro. “With Qatar’s digital transformation market projected to reach $9.19 billion by 2025 and nearly double to $19.65 billion by 2030, this expansion ensures organizations in this dynamic market have access to world-class cybersecurity expertise, cutting-edge solutions, and robust local support.”

The new office will play a pivotal role in driving local engagement, fostering security innovation, and supporting Qatar’s vision for a secure and resilient digital economy.
