UAE and Ireland Sign MoU to Strengthen Economic Cooperation and Establish Joint Economic Commission

The UAE and Ireland have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance economic and technical cooperation, marking a significant step toward deepening bilateral ties. The agreement, signed by UAE Minister Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi and Ireland’s Minister Niamh Smyth, aims to promote collaboration in trade, investment, renewable energy, healthcare technology, and more.

A key provision of the MoU is the creation of a Joint Economic Commission to facilitate business exchanges, investment climate improvements, and participation in international events. The commission will focus on sectors like renewable energy, food security, healthcare, and supply chain resilience. The agreement highlights both countries’ shared ambition for technological growth, innovation, and sustainable development.

The UAE and Ireland share a strong bilateral relationship, underpinned by mutual respect and a commitment to collaboration. The MoU aligns with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, with non-oil trade growing significantly, reaching $1.1 billion in 2024. Both countries continue to develop business ecosystems to attract foreign investment in strategic sectors.

The Joint Economic Committee will serve as a pivotal mechanism for deepening ties, fostering economic growth, and facilitating future collaborations.
