Egypt’s Banha Becomes a Hub for Engineering and AI-Driven Offshoring Services

Banha, Al-Qalyubia — Egypt: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat visited Silicon Expert’s Banha office, a subsidiary of Fortune 133 company Arrow Electronics, alongside Al-Qalyubia Governor Major General Ayman Attia and MP Ahmed Badawi. The delegation was welcomed by ITIDA CEO Ahmed El-Zaher and Kareem Al Tobgy, Country Manager of Silicon Expert.

The visit highlighted Egypt’s growing role as a regional leader in advanced engineering services and AI-driven predictive analytics. Silicon Expert’s investment in Banha, which employs over 500 specialized engineers, underscores Egypt’s ability to nurture digital talent beyond Cairo and strengthen global electronics supply chains.

Dr. Talaat emphasized Egypt’s potential in the offshoring industry, stating, “The foundation of this sector is human intellect, creativity, and skilled talent. We are committed to training initiatives across governorates to build a robust pipeline of qualified professionals for the offshoring sector.”

Banha as a Strategic Data Hub

Silicon Expert’s Banha office serves as a key data and analytics center, strategically positioned near Banha and Menoufia Universities. The proximity to academic institutions fosters collaboration in R&D, internships, and talent development, reinforcing Egypt’s long-term competitiveness in the digital economy.

Kareem Al Tobgy highlighted that the Banha office employs 350 engineers working across data science, automation, and AI, contributing significantly to the company’s global service delivery.

ITIDA CEO Ahmed El-Zaher reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for companies like Silicon Expert. He highlighted Egypt’s value proposition—skilled talent, robust infrastructure, and tailored government support—making it an attractive destination for global companies in electronics design, AI, and analytics.

The visit was part of Dr. Talaat’s broader tour of Al-Qalyubia Governorate, which included the inauguration of upgraded post offices, inspection of telemedicine and telecom facilities, and a visit to the Creativa Innovation Hub. During the tour, Dr. Talaat also witnessed the signing of an MoU between the Ministry and the Governorate to enhance citizens’ digital skills.
