Registration Opens for Bahrain’s Third Batch of the Technical Development Programme

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, has announced that registration is now open for the third batch of the Technical Development Programme (TTDP). This initiative aims to equip Bahraini university graduates with IT-related specialisations who are actively seeking employment, offering them on-the-job training to enhance their skills for both public and private sector roles.

Registration for the programme is open until May 30 and can be completed through iGA’s corporate website at www.iga.gov.bh.

The TTDP will select 80 participants, who will receive training over the course of one year. This initiative is a key part of Bahrain’s efforts to support digital transformation and strengthen its position as a regional leader in ICT and innovation, aligning with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, iGA’s Chief Executive, stated that the third edition of the programme is an essential pillar of iGA’s strategy to drive digital transformation and help Bahraini youth adapt to rapid technological changes. The programme is designed to align with global technological trends, providing participants with the necessary skills to excel in the labour market.

Participants will undergo hands-on training within iGA’s various technical directorates, working on tasks relevant to their specialisations. Al Qaed highlighted that the programme is one of the most significant initiatives supporting the development of Bahraini skills, helping prepare young professionals for leadership roles in the future.

The TTDP also plays a critical role in supplying the Bahraini labour market with skilled professionals in advanced digital and technical fields, fostering innovation and supporting sustainable growth, while reinforcing Bahrain’s status as a technology hub.

The success of the first and second batches has been remarkable. The first batch saw 80 participants complete the programme, earning 146 professional certifications in collaboration with international technology institutes and companies. An impressive 79% of the graduates were employed in both the public and private sectors immediately after the programme.

The second batch, which is still ongoing, has already seen 29 participants enrolled, with 16 selected for employment before completion—13 in the public sector and 3 in the private sector.

To be eligible for the third batch, applicants must be Bahraini citizens aged between 21 and 30, hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and be registered as job seekers or under the unemployment insurance system with the Ministry of Labour.

Applicants are required to submit their university degree, CV, and any relevant professional certificates to support their application.
