Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, welcomed Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari, Assistant Secretary General, Assistant Administrator, and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
During their meeting, the minister reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing cooperation and fostering a strategic partnership with the UN. This collaboration focuses on developing infrastructure and advancing the transportation, telecommunications, and information technology sectors, in line with the comprehensive development initiatives led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla expressed gratitude for the growing partnership between Bahrain and the UN, which contributes to the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He also highlighted the government’s dedication, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to collaborate with the UNDP on training and developing national talent in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
The minister emphasized the importance of supporting joint projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2025–2029).
Dr. Abdallah Al Dardari thanked the minister for his commitment to strengthening Bahrain’s technical, developmental, and strategic cooperation with the UN and wished the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
