Maroc Telecom has entered into a strategic partnership with Visa Corporation to enhance digital payments and promote financial inclusion in Morocco and its African subsidiaries. This collaboration will provide MT Cash users, Maroc Telecom’s Mobile Money solution, with access to Visa’s payment services, driving digital financial services in underserved regions.
The partnership aims to accelerate Africa’s digital transformation by offering tailored payment solutions, particularly for populations that have limited access to traditional banking. With Morocco’s e-commerce market valued at $2 billion, projections show it will reach $3 billion by 2027. As of 2025, digital payments account for 20% of the population aged 15 and older in Morocco, with a higher penetration rate among men (25%) compared to women (15%).
