Robi Axiata has appointed M Riyaaz Rasheed, the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as its acting CEO, effective February 1, 2025. This follows the reassignment of Rajeev Sethi, Robi’s former CEO, to a new role within the Axiata Group.
Sethi, who joined Robi in 2022 after a successful tenure as CEO of Myanmar’s Ooredoo, replaced Rasheed, who had been acting CEO since August 2021. Prior to his role at Ooredoo, Sethi also served as the CEO of Grameenphone.
As of November 2025, Robi had 5.71 crore subscribers in Bangladesh, ranking second behind Grameenphone with 8.45 crore subscribers, based on data from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission.
