Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, participated in the Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The event was inaugurated by Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, and organized by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay.
The forum, themed “Shaping a Sustainable Future through Trade and Employment,” brought together influential Gulf, Arab, and international economic figures. During his address, Dr. Al Khalifa highlighted Bahrain’s role as a global hub for innovation, human capital development, and the integration of digital and green technologies. He attributed the Kingdom’s progress to the comprehensive development led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Dr. Al Khalifa emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to fostering public-private partnerships aimed at economic diversification, modernizing infrastructure and logistics services, and developing human capital. He underscored the alignment of these efforts with the Economic Recovery Plan and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which seeks to balance fiscal stability with sustainable development.
He also discussed Bahrain’s efforts to build a competitive and sustainable economy, particularly through innovation, sustainability, and investment in sectors such as finance, logistics, industry, and tourism. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of digital and green technologies in attracting quality investments and driving economic growth.
The Minister further praised Bahrain’s progress in strengthening its position as a global logistics hub, citing regional and international partnerships and strategic infrastructure projects that enhance connectivity in maritime, air, and land transport. He also outlined ongoing efforts to drive efficiency, digital transformation, and sector development in telecommunications, cloud services, and artificial intelligence, all aimed at supporting sustainable development goals.
Bab Al Bahrain Forum 2025 served as a premier international platform, attracting senior officials, decision-makers, and business leaders, including Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC; Gilbert Houngbo, Director General of the International Labour Organization; and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization. These leaders discussed regional and global economic challenges.
