OSP Cyber Academy has announced a strategic partnership with Bahrain’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to provide cyber safety education to 70,000 students across the Kingdom. This collaboration introduces culturally tailored, gamified courses designed to enhance students’ understanding of digital citizenship and cybersecurity best practices.
The partnership offers four interactive courses targeting different age groups: 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-17. The courses are guided by avatars of both a boy and a girl, leading students through real-world online safety scenarios set in digital environments inspired by key Bahraini landmarks. With engaging question prompts and interactive learning methods, the platform ensures high retention of cyber safety knowledge in a fun and relatable way.
The initiative was launched in collaboration with His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed AlKhalifa, CEO of NCSC Bahrain, and builds on OSP Cyber Academy’s long-standing involvement in the Kingdom. The academy also hosts the UK pavilion at the Arab International Cyber Security Summit (AICS) in Bahrain every year. Notably, OSP achieved a Guinness World Record at the 2023 AICS event for the ‘Most People to Take an Online Internet Safety Lesson in 24 hours,’ where 1,550 participants from 44 countries completed the lesson.
OSP Cyber Academy’s team of expert educators and cyber professionals, with backgrounds in policing and teaching, have designed the courses to effectively educate children on digital threats. Through interactive gaming methods, the courses keep learning engaging while teaching important cybersecurity practices.
Tommy McCarthy, CEO of OSP Cyber Academy, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “Children grow up in a digital world, and it’s vital they know how to navigate it safely. Our courses are designed to be both fun and educational, equipping kids with the knowledge to identify online dangers and practice good cybersecurity habits.”
