Speaking at Rafic Hariri International Airport before his departure, Jaber outlined the objectives of his visit, stating, “In addition to expressing Lebanon’s gratitude for Iraq’s ongoing support, especially in providing fuel during wartime and more recently wheat and social aid, we will discuss a range of joint interests.”

The discussions will include topics such as electricity, telecommunications, and the possibility of extending fiber optic connections that could link Lebanon to Europe via Iraq. The visit will also address the pipeline project and the settlement of Lebanon’s outstanding financial obligations.

Before his departure, Jaber met with Education Minister Rima Karami to discuss a framework for addressing the needs of Lebanon’s educational sector.
