Huawei Morocco, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, announced the participation of a Moroccan student team in the global finals of the Tech4Good competition, held in China. The team, selected from 18 participants, qualified after competing in a regional round organized by Huawei Northern Africa.
The six Moroccan students, from universities such as Al Akhawayn University, Moulay Ismail University, Ibn Tofail University, and Suptech Santé, presented their project, Smart Aquaponics. The innovative solution combines IoT and cloud computing to efficiently manage water and nutrients for sustainable farming. This project addresses the global challenge of water scarcity and promotes environmental awareness.
The team’s journey began through Huawei’s Seeds for the Future program in Essaouira, and they gained valuable experience during their trip to China. There, they visited Huawei’s headquarters, attended training sessions, and received mentorship, which enhanced their project before presenting it to the global jury.
Jason Chen, Vice President of Huawei Morocco, commended the team’s innovation and highlighted the role of youth in shaping the future of digital transformation. Huawei’s ongoing support for such initiatives aims to empower Moroccan youth and contribute to addressing global challenges through technology.
