Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched its 4G mobile data service in Kotrang, Junichande Rural Municipality of Jajarkot district, marking the introduction of the fourth-generation mobile network in the area for the first time. The service, which began on Baisakh 25, 2082, also includes 2G services, ensuring reliable voice and mobile data coverage for both locals and visitors.
With the new 4G network, users in the region can now enjoy faster data services, while the 2G network ensures dependable voice connectivity and strong mobile signal coverage. The 4G service extends across several nearby wards, including wards no. 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. Locals and tourists can now use NTC’s VoLTE for HD voice calls, video calls, and smooth internet browsing, enabling them to run their businesses through electronic transactions.
In addition to the 4G launch, Nepal Telecom has included Jajarkot as part of its model district initiative for communication services. Despite being a remote area in the Karnali district, NTC continues its efforts to connect this region to the broader national network. The company has prioritized expanding high-quality telecom services throughout the country, and its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service is now available in 77 districts.
The 4G launch in Kotrang extends NTC’s network coverage to over 98% of local levels, with the goal of achieving blanket coverage and eventually using the existing infrastructure for 5G services.
