Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Bahrain’s Minister of Information, participated in the 28th meeting of the Ministers of Information of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Kuwait. The meeting, chaired by Abdulrahman Baddah Al Mutairi, Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, focused on strengthening media cooperation across the Gulf region.
During his speech, Dr. Al Noaimi emphasized the importance of advancing Gulf media integration and creating shared platforms using modern technologies to keep pace with rapid developments. He stated that this approach aligns with the vision of GCC leaders and responds to the aspirations of their people.
Dr. Al Noaimi also reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting joint GCC actions, including in the media sector, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.
He underscored the critical role of Gulf media institutions in fostering collaborative media efforts and reinforcing shared values and principles that unite the GCC states. He further emphasized the need for continued coordination among member states to implement initiatives that address regional priorities.
As the global media landscape rapidly evolves, Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted the need for a unified Gulf response that enhances media content and nurtures national talent capable of producing responsible and impactful media reflecting the Gulf’s identity, values, and achievements.
The ministers discussed several key items on the agenda, including proposed initiatives under the GCC Strategic Plan for Joint Media Cooperation 2023–2030. The plan covers various media sectors such as radio, television, news agencies, and digital platforms. They also explored ways to integrate modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, in producing creative content that showcases the region’s shared identity and highlights its ongoing progress.
