Bahrain has been ranked first in the MENA and GCC regions in the Global Network Excellence Index, a global benchmark for mobile network quality, according to OpenSignal, an independent analytics company. This achievement highlights Bahrain’s commitment to digital excellence and solidifies its leadership in telecommunications.

The Kingdom earned recognition for its exceptional 4G/5G availability, fast download speeds, and reliable network quality, reflecting the country’s advanced infrastructure and preparedness for future digital demands.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has been instrumental in fostering a regulatory environment that encourages innovation and maintains high service standards. Philip Marnick, General Director of TRA, remarked, “This achievement reflects Bahrain’s leadership in digital infrastructure and its ongoing commitment to ensuring high-quality connectivity for all.”

The TRA’s continuous efforts to promote competition and innovation have allowed telecom operators to deliver world-class services. This success is also attributed to the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, whose policies have positioned Bahrain at the forefront of digital transformation.

TRA’s dedication to maintaining Bahrain’s leadership in telecommunications and advancing the country’s digital ecosystem remains unwavering, as it continues to drive innovation and keep pace with global advancements.
