Jordan’s Mobile Phone Imports Decline in Early 2025 Amid Market Slowdown

Jordan imported approximately 480,000 mobile phones worth JD44 million in the first third of 2025, showing a decline from 628,000 devices valued at JD51 million during the same period in 2024. Imports also fell short of 2023’s figures, which saw around 521,000 devices worth JD53 million.

The Vision Association for Mobile Phones and Accessories Investors attributed this decline to a wider variety of brands and technical specifications available in the Jordanian market, providing consumers with more choices across different price segments.

Chairman Ahmed Alloush pointed out that this local trend mirrors global patterns, as the international smartphone market also saw a marked slowdown in early 2025, with only a 0.2% growth in global shipments, totaling 296.9 million units.
