Banglalink has introduced an innovative “Smartphone on Installment” offer aimed at making 4G smartphones more affordable and accessible to a broader population in Bangladesh for the first time. The program enables customers to purchase 4G smartphones from Banglalink Centers via a simple installment plan, requiring no banking or credit cards.
Under this initiative, customers upgrading from 2G or 3G can make a down payment of just 15% of the device’s EMI price plus associated charges, with the remaining balance payable in convenient monthly installments over up to nine months. This flexible financial model smooths the transition to enhanced digital connectivity without the usual financial barriers.
Mehedi Al Amin, Marketing Operations Director at Banglalink, emphasized the company’s commitment to accelerating digital inclusion by removing the smartphone entry price barrier. “With this initiative, we aim to make 4G smartphones more affordable and within reach for everyone, especially those without access to credit cards or formal banking,” he said. “By empowering more people to join the digital ecosystem, we are advancing towards a digitally empowered and connected Bangladesh.”
The program is made possible through strategic partnerships with PalmPay, Genex, and Ismartu, highlighting Banglalink’s dedication to impactful collaborations.
Jun Zeng, Managing Director of PalmPay Limited, noted, “We are proud to collaborate with Banglalink on this meaningful initiative. By eliminating the need for credit cards to purchase smartphones on installments, we are making digital connectivity more inclusive and accessible for customers across various financial backgrounds, helping to narrow the digital divide.”
Rezwanul Hoque, CEO of ISMARTU Technology Bangladesh Limited, added, “We are committed to assisting customers with quality smartphones from brands like Itel, TECNO, and Infinix. Offering EMIs through this collaboration with Banglalink adds significant value to our customers’ lives by bringing affordability.”
Customers can visit any Banglalink Center nationwide, select devices from trusted smartphone brands including Itel, TECNO, and Infinix, and complete the purchase process easily through the PalmPay app. The entire process can be completed in as little as 30 minutes. Microfinance Institution (MFI) partner Chetona facilitates the EMI payments.
Additionally, each customer who purchases a device under this offer receives 18GB of complimentary internet for three months, an automatic upgrade to Orange Club Gold tier, and a 150% bonus through the MyBL app.
