Ncell Commits to Digital Inclusion by Adopting GSMA Principles for Persons with Disabilities

KATHMANDU — Ncell has reaffirmed its dedication to promoting digital inclusion by signing the GSMA’s Principles for Driving the Digital Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities. The GSMA is a global non-profit trade organization representing mobile network operators, providing a framework to help bridge the mobile disability gap worldwide.

As the first Nepali mobile operator to adopt these principles, Ncell aims to ensure equitable access to mobile technology and digital services for all, regardless of ability. This commitment builds on Ncell’s existing initiatives, including a 50% data discount under its Sadhain ON plan for people with disabilities, accessible customer care centers, disability-friendly office infrastructure, and partnerships supporting Nepal’s para-athletes.

Ncell pledges to embed accessibility into its organizational strategy, design inclusive products and services, and engage actively with the disability community to meet their needs. Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Director of Ncell Foundation and Special Projects, said, “We are not just enabling connectivity—we are empowering lives. By committing to these principles, we take a step toward ensuring no one is left behind in Nepal’s digital future.”

Ncell’s move aligns it with a growing global network of telecom companies focused on mobile accessibility, aiming not only to connect but to empower persons with disabilities.
