Mastercard has announced the appointment of Saud Swar as the new country manager overseeing Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and other Levant territories. This strategic move strengthens Mastercard’s leadership within its West Arabia division, reinforcing its commitment to being the region’s preferred technology partner.
With over 17 years of experience in financial services, Swar will lead Mastercard’s operations in these markets, deepening local engagement and driving efforts to foster an inclusive digital economy. Before joining Mastercard, he spent his entire career at American Express, culminating as chief business officer — MENA.
Adam Jones, Mastercard’s Executive Vice President and Division President of West Arabia, praised Swar’s appointment, highlighting his pivotal role in advancing Mastercard’s mission to deliver accessible, secure, and transformative digital financial solutions across the region.

Swar holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Bahrain and an executive MBA from London Business School.
