Muscat – The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) has selected 55 promising technology startups for the second edition of the Nomu Programme, an initiative designed to accelerate the growth of early-stage companies. The programme focuses on equipping startups with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to scale and succeed both locally and regionally.
During an introductory meeting held on Wednesday, the participating startups were briefed on a range of support services available through the programme. These include workshops, personalized one-on-one consultations, marketing support, and business development opportunities aimed at nurturing innovation and sustainable growth.
Key partner organisations, such as the ‘Madar’ platform and the Capital Market Incentive Programme, presented resources and tools designed to bolster the startups’ capabilities and market readiness. The event also featured interactive dialogue sessions with alumni from the first Nomu cohort, providing a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and mentorship.
Ministry officials emphasized that the Nomu Programme is tailored for startups that already have a working prototype, a validated user base, and early-stage funding. The initiative aims to foster an ecosystem conducive to startup success, driving innovation and economic diversification within Oman’s technology landscape.
“The programme provides participating companies with the necessary knowledge and skills to grow and expand, both locally and regionally,” said a ministry official, underlining the government’s commitment to supporting the burgeoning startup ecosystem.
