Doha — In a major step toward digital transformation, Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) unveiled two artificial intelligence-driven virtual assistants, “Smart Assistant” and “Saif,” developed in collaboration with Microsoft. The announcement came during a press conference emphasizing the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing the quality and efficiency of government services through cutting-edge technology.
The “Smart Assistant” is now integrated into the Ministry’s Single Window platform, designed to simplify and accelerate government transactions. It offers users instant, 24/7 responses to their inquiries and provides step-by-step guidance to complete procedures independently—eliminating the need for direct human interaction. Mubarak Alkhelaifi, Director of the Single Window Department, highlighted how this tool streamlines workflows and ensures uninterrupted service delivery.
Meanwhile, “Saif” serves as a virtual assistant available on the Ministry’s official website and mobile application. Ahmad Al-Kuwari, Director of the Information Technology Department, described “Saif” as a qualitative enhancement to the Ministry’s digital ecosystem, built using the latest AI technologies to deliver a fast, reliable, and interactive user experience. “Saif” empowers users to access information and complete government services with ease and convenience.
Both initiatives are part of MoCI’s broader strategy to modernize its digital infrastructure and expand e-service capabilities, aiming to provide seamless user journeys and position Qatar as a leader in smart government services.
By deploying these AI-powered assistants, the Ministry demonstrates its commitment to leveraging innovative technologies to deliver more efficient, accessible, and user-centric public services.
