Muscat – The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has highlighted the crucial role parents play in safeguarding children against online dangers. In an advisory titled ‘Our Children’s Safety in the Internet Space,’ ROP urges parents and guardians to actively supervise their children’s digital activities and use parental control tools to create a safer online environment.
The advisory recommends selecting age-appropriate content, teaching children to recognize and avoid harmful material, limiting screen time, and educating them on responding to online risks. It also stresses the importance of monitoring children’s online behavior and being attentive to any changes to better support their needs in the evolving digital landscape.
ROP concludes with a call to collective vigilance, emphasizing that protecting children online is a shared responsibility requiring ongoing parental engagement and proactive measures.
