SLT-Mobitel Reports Remarkable Q1 2025 Financial Turnaround, Cementing Role as Sri Lanka’s Digital Leader

SLT-Mobitel has announced a dramatic financial turnaround in Q1 2025, posting a Group Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 2,001 million—up from Rs. 156 million in the same period last year. This milestone reflects the company’s operational resilience and vital role in driving Sri Lanka’s digital future.

SLT PLC led with a 369.9% PAT increase to Rs. 1,344 million, supported by strong revenue growth in enterprise, SME, and broadband sectors, alongside disciplined cost management. Mobitel also excelled with Rs. 11.8 billion in revenue, a 28.5% EBITDA rise, and a net profit turnaround to Rs. 477 million, boosted by surging mobile data demand. Mobitel’s recognition as Sri Lanka’s fastest 4G network by Ookla underscores its market leadership.

Once considered for divestment, SLT-Mobitel has revitalized through strategic leadership, operational discipline, and strong stakeholder alignment. Its success is attributed to dedicated employees, visionary board oversight, and innovative technology partnerships deploying AI and next-gen connectivity.
