Starlink is steadily strengthening its presence in Bangladesh through multiple strategic partnerships with local companies, particularly Fibre@Home and its affiliates, which are handling critical infrastructure projects such as ground station development and data centre hosting. The first ground station is under construction at Hi-Tech City in Kaliakair, Gazipur, with servers hosted at Felicity IDC Limited, a Tier III data centre in the same park.
Additional ground stations are planned for the Software Technology Park in Jashore and Cox’s Bazar, with Fibre@Home providing infrastructure support in Jashore. Starlink has also partnered with Fibre@Home, Summit Communications, and Bahon Limited for transmission services, while Fibre@Home and Summit Communications are negotiating to provide international internet gateway (IIG) services.
Several companies have secured authorized reseller status by paying nearly $2.5 million each, allowing them to serve business and government clients under Starlink’s Business and Priority plans. Resellers will manage pricing, billing, and offer additional services such as installation and technical support. Starlink Bangladesh will handle importation of user terminals and supply hardware and service discounts to resellers.
Potential clients for Starlink services span diverse sectors including data centres, retail, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, media, transportation, maritime, and energy. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) granted Starlink a temporary 90-day permit to import bandwidth, enabling Starlink to meet its service launch deadline before establishing a local internet gateway.
