Nepal Telecom to Divest 30% Shares to Public While Government Retains Majority

KATHMANDU — Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel announced during the FY 2025/26 budget speech that Nepal Telecom will divest 30 percent of its shares to the general public. The government will retain the majority stake in the state-owned telecom operator, marking a significant step toward increasing public participation in the company.
