Al-Itqan Legal Group, a prominent Kuwaiti law firm, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Amazon Payment Services, aiming to combine legal expertise with advanced payment technologies to support Kuwait’s expanding digital economy.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) focuses on enhancing electronic transaction capabilities and developing robust legal and regulatory frameworks tailored to Kuwait’s growing digital payments sector. Amazon Payment Services, a trusted payment gateway across the MENA region, operates in several countries including Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

Sultan Saad Al-Qahtani, Co-Founder of Al-Itqan Legal Group, highlighted the significance of the collaboration: “This agreement aims to enhance market efficiency and stimulate digital transformation in the legal and financial business environment.” The partnership merges Al-Itqan’s two decades of legal experience with Amazon’s global payment processing infrastructure to create an advanced model of legal-technological integration.

Key goals include developing aligned legal frameworks, upgrading Kuwait’s electronic transaction infrastructure, providing innovative legal solutions to facilitate payment technology adoption, and fostering sustainable, tech-driven economic growth.

Fahad Al-Buraikan, Co-Founder of Al-Itqan Legal Group, emphasized the strategic value of the partnership: “We are proud to support Kuwait’s digital economy by delivering legal solutions responsive to the evolving payments landscape.”

The signing ceremony featured senior executives from both entities, including Samit Tyagi and Mohammad Imtiaz from Amazon, alongside Al-Itqan’s co-founders and senior management.

Al-Itqan Legal Group specializes in intellectual property, contract law, franchise agreements, and regulatory compliance, and has a history of managing complex client needs with innovative approaches.

This partnership builds on Amazon Payment Services’ recent regional expansion, including a multi-year commercial deal with Mastercard to digitize payment acceptance in key Middle Eastern and African markets.
