ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, has entered into a strategic partnership with technology solutions provider DWP Technologies to upgrade its data centre infrastructure using Dell Technologies’ enterprise and mid-tier storage platforms.
A signing ceremony in Islamabad formalized the collaboration, attended by PTCL and Ufone Group CTO Jafar Khalid, DWP COO Rohail Bashir, and senior management from PTCL, DWP, and Dell Technologies. This initiative is part of PTCL’s ongoing digital transformation, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, boosting performance, and ensuring scalable infrastructure to meet rising data demands.
The upgraded platform retains full support for PTCL and Ufone 4G’s mission-critical ecosystem across three sites with enterprise replication services (SRDF), guaranteeing uninterrupted business continuity throughout the modernization.
Key enhancements include a three-site active-active metro architecture to ensure continuous service during localized disruptions, scalable design for future growth, and a reduced data centre footprint that lowers power and cooling needs—resulting in cost savings and improved energy efficiency.
Jafar Khalid remarked, “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in PTCL’s digital transformation journey, reinforcing our leadership in data centre innovation. By modernizing our infrastructure, we enhance operational capabilities and reaffirm our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to enterprise customers.”
Rohail Bashir added, “Our partnership with PTCL and Dell highlights our commitment to delivering scalable, reliable technology solutions that drive operational excellence. We are proud to support Pakistan’s telecommunications future with this transformative upgrade.”
This infrastructure modernization solidifies PTCL’s position as a technology leader equipped to meet the evolving needs of its diverse customer base.
