Sri Lanka’s E-Commerce Sector Poised for Growth as Bamagate.com Launches Exclusive Deals Campaign

Sri Lanka’s e-commerce market is on a strong growth path, with online user penetration expected to rise from 13.3% in 2025 to 14.1% by 2029, according to Bamagate.com CEO Douglas Nijanthan. Speaking at the launch of the platform’s ‘Deals Offer’ campaign in Colombo, Nijanthan highlighted how expanding internet access and smartphone adoption are driving increased online shopping.

Currently, about 43% of Sri Lanka’s 11 million internet users engage in online purchases. Independent analysis projects the national e-commerce market revenue to reach around US $5.1 billion by 2027, signaling a lucrative opportunity for digital retailers.

To capitalize on this momentum, Bamagate.com rolled out a series of promotions including free gift deals, daily deals, and buy-one-get-one-free offers across categories such as electronics, fashion, and home goods. Nijanthan stressed the importance of platform-exclusive offers in today’s competitive digital retail landscape.

He noted, “The value of these exclusive deals lies in their limited availability, offering savvy shoppers significant savings.” Bamagate.com plans to collaborate with brands to provide exclusive coupon codes, free shipping, and extended warranties, aiming to enhance customer loyalty and shopping experience.

Nijanthan concluded, “With Bamagate.com, shoppers have a trusted partner to navigate exclusive deals and maximize their online shopping benefits.”
