Jazz Completes Landmark Infrastructure Deal with Engro Corp to Propel Pakistan’s Digital Future

Jazz has finalized its strategic infrastructure partnership with Engro Corporation, marking one of Pakistan’s largest private-sector infrastructure transactions in the digital telecom space. Under this agreement, Jazz’s telecom infrastructure assets, held by Deodar (Private) Limited, have been transferred to Engro Connect, Engro Corp’s subsidiary. Jazz will continue to lease this extensive infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted nationwide mobile voice and data services under a long-term partnership.

This collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to boosting infrastructure efficiency and driving Pakistan’s digital transformation. Initially announced in December 2024, the deal secured all regulatory approvals from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), and Islamabad High Court, paving the way for enhanced commercial and strategic cooperation.

Aamir Ibrahim, Jazz CEO, highlighted the deal’s role in enabling Jazz’s transition to a digital-first “ServiceCo” model focused on fintech, cloud, entertainment, and digital health services, while maintaining an asset-light approach. He expressed gratitude for regulatory support and enthusiasm for the partnership’s role in powering Pakistan’s digital future.
