Kale Logistics Solutions, in collaboration with local partner Novel Muscat, has secured a significant contract from Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) to design, build, and operate the country’s new National Port Community System (NPCS). This centralized digital platform will streamline multimodal cargo operations across Oman’s ports, airports, land ports, and free zones.
The project was officially announced at Oman Logistics Day in Muscat, an event attended by MTCIT officials, Gulf Cooperation Council representatives, and World Bank delegates, underscoring its strategic role in Oman’s logistics sector development.
As part of Oman’s Logistics Sector Strategy 2040, the NPCS is designed to support four national priorities: market development, trade facilitation, Omanisation-driven employment growth, and technology adoption to boost competitiveness. By digitizing cargo handling processes across all transport hubs, the platform aims to simplify international trade procedures, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen Oman’s position as a regional logistics hub.
Vineet Malhotra, Co-Founder and Director of Kale Logistics Solutions, expressed appreciation for the opportunity, stating, “This is a significant honour for Kale, and we deeply appreciate the vision of Oman’s Ministry in advancing its logistics capabilities through the NPCS. The system will deliver operational efficiencies, strengthen trade facilitation, support job creation, and contribute directly to Oman’s economic growth.”
The initial phase of the NPCS implementation will focus on Oman’s port network, with subsequent phases expanding to include all cargo transport modes. The platform is also expected to improve Oman’s rankings in global logistics performance indices and support the nation’s goal of establishing a sustainable and resilient logistics sector.
