Qatar — Vodafone Qatar’s recent strategic partnership with Nokia marks a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey. According to Ramy Boctor, Vodafone Qatar’s Chief Technology Officer, the collaboration focuses on a nationwide network modernization plan aimed at enhancing network capabilities and enabling the rollout of advanced, flexible 5G services for both consumers and businesses.
Boctor highlighted that the modernization will deliver faster, more efficient, and highly secure telecommunications services, preparing Vodafone Qatar for next-generation innovations amid a rapidly evolving digital landscape. The country’s ICT sector is projected to grow annually by 8.5% through 2030, underscoring the importance of adaptable infrastructure.
A key objective of the upgrade is boosting broadband network performance to meet increasing demand for high-speed, reliable internet access across homes and enterprises. The modernization will also incorporate automation and orchestration powered by advanced AI, improving operational efficiency, reducing time to market, and fostering innovation beyond traditional telecom services.

Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, emphasized the role of Nokia’s digital operations software in advancing Vodafone Qatar’s journey towards fully autonomous networks. He explained how AI-driven assurance and 5G network slicing automation enable tailored, reliable service delivery by guaranteeing bandwidth and dynamically managing network faults to maintain seamless connectivity.
