His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Bahrain Airport Company, the operator of Bahrain International Airport, and Valo Aviation, a private jet operator in Bahrain. The agreement, signed during the Paris Air Show 2025 from June 16-22 by Jeffrey Goh, CEO of Gulf Air Group, and Hanna Hakamo, CEO of Valo Aviation, aims to develop dedicated maintenance, repair, and ground services facilities for business aviation at Bahrain International Airport.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed highlighted Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to develop the business aviation sector as a crucial part of its national air transport system, aligning with regional and global market trends. He emphasized that providing specialized infrastructure and advanced facilities is key to enhancing Bahrain International Airport’s status as a flexible, efficient hub and boosting the Kingdom’s appeal to international investors.
The MoU enables Valo Aviation to establish a dedicated maintenance and repair hangar for VIP and business jets on approximately 6,000 square meters of land, built to approved technical standards. This initiative aligns with Valo Aviation’s strategy to expand its business aviation operations and enhance service sustainability in Bahrain.
Khalid Hussain Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group, noted that the partnership supports Bahrain’s vision to become a regional center for specialized air services and attracts private sector investment. He welcomed Valo Aviation’s commitment, reflecting growing confidence in Bahrain’s regulatory and operational environment, contributing to a sustainable aviation system balancing efficiency and commercial appeal.
Jeffrey Goh described the agreement as a milestone in business aviation development at Bahrain International Airport, underscoring the airport’s commitment to providing infrastructure tailored to partner needs. He emphasized that the project aligns with the airport’s development plans and reinforces Bahrain’s attractiveness as a preferred destination for business aviation.
Hanna Hakamo praised Bahrain’s strategic location and aviation development plans, viewing the project as both an operational success and a long-term infrastructure investment supporting the sector’s growth in the Kingdom.
