The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Batelco by Beyon to offer integrated service packages to business clients, marking a strategic milestone in advancing Bahrain’s digital economy. This partnership combines secure fintech services with comprehensive connectivity solutions to provide a seamless, one-stop experience for businesses.
Under the agreement, Batelco will bundle its connectivity offerings with ‘NBB GO’, NBB’s innovative SoftPOS Android application that transforms any NFC-enabled smartphone into a secure, contactless payment terminal. This integration aims to simplify payment processing and connectivity management for entrepreneurs and SMEs, enhancing operational efficiency and customer experience.
Hisham AlKurdi, Group Chief Executive – Markets & Client Solutions at NBB, said, “This partnership represents a powerful alignment of two national institutions working together to deliver meaningful value to businesses across Bahrain. By integrating NBB GO into Batelco’s bundled offerings, we enable businesses to benefit from a streamlined, secure, and efficient payment solution that complements their communication needs.”
NBB GO is available on the Google Play Store, offering a cost-effective way for merchants to modernize payment infrastructure and embrace cashless transactions without traditional POS devices.
Abdulla Danesh, General Manager of Enterprise at Batelco, added, “This collaboration reflects our commitment to rethinking how businesses access and utilize digital services. By combining secure payment technologies with advanced connectivity, we deliver a comprehensive experience that helps Bahraini enterprises innovate, operate more effectively, and support national development goals.”
Both organizations emphasize the partnership’s role in supporting economic growth by equipping businesses with scalable, secure, and convenient digital tools, reinforcing Bahrain’s vision for a cashless and digitally advanced ecosystem.
