Pakistan Budgets Rs22.6 Billion from 4G/5G Licenses for Fiscal Year 2025-26 Amid Adjusted Revenue Projections

ISLAMABAD — The Pakistani government has allocated Rs22.612 billion in non-tax revenue from 4G and 5G licenses for the fiscal year 2025-26, down from Rs32.612 billion budgeted for the outgoing year, which was later revised to Rs27 billion.

Under the category “Income from Property and Enterprises (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Surplus),” the government projects Rs1.1 trillion revenue for 2025-26, compared to the Rs1.2 trillion initially budgeted for the current fiscal year, which was subsequently increased to Rs1.431 trillion.

The budget also includes Rs12 billion projected from the mobile handset levy for 2025-26, up from Rs10 billion budgeted in the previous year.

Revenue from Regulatory Authorities (Surplus/Penalties) is budgeted at Rs6.239 billion for 2025-26, significantly lower than the Rs10.036 billion originally budgeted for the current fiscal year, which was later revised downward to Rs654.7 million.
