Dubai-based telecom leader du has partnered with pureLiFi to introduce the region’s first outdoor Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE) using pureLiFi’s Bridge XC—a revolutionary solution that transmits wireless data and power through windows using invisible light. This marks a transformative leap in digital connectivity for du customers, enabling high-speed broadband without drilling or complex setups.
Bridge XC overcomes physical barriers that degrade 5G signals, delivering multi-gigabit, low-latency internet ideal for gaming, streaming, and remote work. The technology optimizes network capacity on sub-6 GHz 5G and mmWave bands while providing interference-free, secure data transmission.
du CTO Saleem Alblooshi highlighted that Bridge XC eliminates signal attenuation caused by building materials, offering lightning-fast installation and reliable connectivity. pureLiFi CEO Alistair Banham noted that Bridge XC’s self-install design lowers costs and can increase network capacity sixfold on sub-6 GHz 5G.
Upcoming trials will assess Bridge XC’s performance across varied environments and technologies including 4G, 5G/mmWave, Fixed Wireless Access, and fiber ONTs, ensuring it meets global operator standards. du becomes the first MENA operator to integrate light-based communication with traditional RF, reinforcing its position as a pioneer in next-gen connectivity.
