At the Saudi Industry Forum 2025 held in Dhahran, Aramco President and CEO Amin Nasser emphasized that integrating digital technologies could increase Saudi Arabia’s industrial productivity by 15 to 25 percent. Nasser underscored the Kingdom’s transition into a new industrial era driven by digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), data centers, and human capital development, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

Saudi Arabia currently boasts the largest digital economy in the Middle East and North Africa, valued at over SR495 billion ($131.9 billion) in 2024, accounting for 15 percent of its GDP. Nasser highlighted that technological advancements will dominate industries over the next decade, accelerating Saudi Arabia’s industrial transformation amid geopolitical shifts and intensifying global competition.

Aramco is actively building digital infrastructure including the launch of Aramco Digital Company and a 450 MHz private wireless network dedicated to industrial use. The company has introduced edge AI services designed for critical industrial facilities, such as crowd management during Hajj, and established Cyberani in 2021 to provide industrial-grade cybersecurity solutions.

Nasser warned of operational risks posed by insufficient digital protection and stressed the importance of developing human expertise in cybersecurity. He called for localizing digital supply chains and investing proactively in digital protection to ensure the resilience and competitiveness of Saudi industries.

Sponsored by Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the forum aims to propel Saudi Arabia’s industrial sector as a key pillar of economic diversification under Vision 2030.
