At MWC Shanghai 2025, Huawei unveiled its latest advancements in 5G Advanced (5G-A) experience monetization and AI-driven scenario-based services under the theme “Accelerating the Intelligent World.” The company engaged with global carriers, industry partners, and thought leaders to explore new growth opportunities in telecom through AI-enhanced services, infrastructure, and operations.
Huawei’s showcase focused on three key areas:
- Services: Highlighting successful 5G-A monetization and AI-to-X projects developed with China’s three major carriers.
- Infrastructure: Presenting AI-centric network builds and introducing the AI Ultra-Broadband (AI UBB) solution, delivering end-to-end computing power from home broadband to transport networks to boost network autonomy and AI application performance.
- Operations: Sharing best practices in intelligent wireless and home broadband network operations, alongside AI computing services for training and inference, aimed at optimizing carrier computing power.
Eric Xu, Huawei’s Deputy Chairman, emphasized that the telecom industry is transitioning from rapid growth to steady development, identifying four key growth pathways: adapting to evolving user demands, expanding HD video ecosystems, integrating 5G into connected vehicles, and extending fiber to micro and small businesses to capitalize on AI opportunities. Xu stressed that carriers have unique markets and competitive landscapes, and Huawei is committed to collaborating with them to tailor sustainable growth strategies.
China leads in 5G-A deployment, with coverage in over 300 cities and more than 10 million users, while carriers in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific are actively exploring premium 5G-A offerings. Huawei emphasized that AI-driven innovation is disrupting the telecom industry and enabling new monetization models, reshaping how users interact with technology and society.
Carriers leverage strengths in cloud, network, intelligence, and computing to evolve into providers of personalized AI agents, enhancing services in smart homes, in-vehicle experiences, and enterprise operations. Integrations such as AI-powered V2X services create new monetization avenues by delivering intelligent mobile environments and deepening production and operational capabilities.
MWC Shanghai 2025 took place from June 18 to 20 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, where Huawei showcased these innovations to accelerate the global transition toward an intelligent, AI-powered world.
