Morocco Telecom Group Raises Over €272 Million in Landmark Private Bond Issuance to Fuel African Expansion

Morocco Telecom Group (IAM), the country’s leading telecommunications operator and a major player in Africa’s telecom sector, has successfully raised more than €272 million (about 3 billion Moroccan dirhams) through its inaugural private bond issuance. This milestone marks a strategic diversification of the group’s financing, moving beyond reliance on traditional bank loans.

The private bond offering drew strong interest from institutional investors both regionally and internationally, underscoring confidence in IAM’s solid financial standing and its ambitious growth plans. The bond’s maturity and interest rate terms were structured to align with the company’s medium- and long-term investment objectives.

Proceeds from the bond will be dedicated to advancing Morocco Telecom’s expansion across Africa, including upgrading network infrastructure, driving digital transformation initiatives, and pursuing potential acquisitions to reinforce its continental presence.

This successful capital raise not only enhances Morocco Telecom’s financial flexibility but also strengthens its ability to innovate and compete in an increasingly digital and dynamic telecommunications environment. It positions IAM favorably for continued growth and value creation for its shareholders.
