Zain Omantel International (ZOI), a joint venture between Zain Group and Omantel, has been honored with four major international awards recognizing its leadership in regional and global wholesale telecom connectivity. At the Carrier Community Global Awards (CCGA), ZOI received accolades for:
- Best Data Connectivity Innovative Provider of the Year for its integrated subsea-terrestrial networks serving hyperscalers and carriers across eight markets.
- Best Subsea Cable Operator of the Year for strategic investments in subsea cable systems including G2A, AAE-1, and Oman Australia Cable.
- Middle East Regional Connectivity Operator of the Year for its operator-owned pan-Middle East fibre network linking the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Red Sea.
Additionally, ZOI was named Best New Telecom Connectivity Brand – Middle East at the Global Brand Awards 2025, highlighting its strong brand presence and innovation.
Launched in May 2023, ZOI combines Zain’s regional digital leadership with Omantel’s global infrastructure, operating over 20 international subsea cable systems alongside extensive terrestrial networks. CEO Sohail Qadir emphasized that these awards reflect ZOI’s role in driving innovation and connectivity in the Middle East, reinforcing the region’s emergence as a global digital hub and enabling organizations worldwide to scale and innovate.
