iXAfrica Data Centres, operator of East Africa’s first hyperscale, AI-ready data centre in Kenya, has formed a strategic partnership with EdgeNext, a global leader in cloud infrastructure and edge computing services, to drive the next phase of digital infrastructure expansion across the region.
This alliance combines EdgeNext’s global edge platform—including CDN, bare metal, and edge compute services—with iXAfrica’s cutting-edge, carrier-neutral infrastructure at its flagship Nairobi One (NBOX1) campus. Together, they aim to deliver mission-critical, low-latency, high-performance solutions tailored to enterprise sectors such as financial services, media, telecommunications, and cloud-native businesses.
As East Africa emerges as one of the fastest-growing digital economies, this partnership positions both companies as key enablers of regional cloud transformation. Enterprise customers will benefit from ultra-low latency and edge acceleration for real-time workloads, localized compute and content delivery for enhanced compliance and performance, and scalable infrastructure supporting AI, fintech, gaming, and media deployments.
The joint offering includes integrated, enterprise-grade solutions—from bare metal to advanced edge services—helping organizations modernize digital infrastructure to operate efficiently, securely, and at scale.
Terence Wang, CEO of EdgeNext, noted, “Partnering with iXAfrica brings our global edge platform closer to where digital demand is growing fastest. This alliance enables East African enterprises to deploy latency-sensitive applications, seamlessly deliver content, and meet data sovereignty regulations from a local base.”
Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica, added, “This collaboration unlocks new opportunities for enterprises in East Africa and aligns with our vision to build the continent’s most trusted AI-optimized digital infrastructure, empowering global brands to scale and thrive.”
