RIYADH — According to the “Saudi Internet 2024” report by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, approximately 48.6 percent of internet users in Saudi Arabia spend seven hours or more online each day, reflecting growing demand for digital content and e-services.
Peak internet usage occurs between 9 pm and 11 pm daily, with March recording the highest usage levels of the year. Saturdays see the most internet activity during the week.
Most users access the internet at home (87.9 percent), followed by usage during travel (79.3 percent) and at work (41.7 percent).
Mobile phones dominate device usage at 99.4 percent, followed by computers (50.7 percent) and tablets (37.5 percent). In terms of operating systems, Android leads mobile phone use with 55 percent compared to iOS’s 45 percent. For computers, Windows holds a 91.1 percent share, with Macintosh at 7.5 percent and Linux at 1.4 percent.
The report underscores Saudi Arabia’s ongoing digital transformation and highlights the internet’s integral role in daily activities such as work, education, and entertainment.
