AIS Business Launches Thailand’s First Locally-Based Hyperscale Cloud for AI Workloads Using Oracle Cloud

AIS Business has introduced “AIS Cloud – Thai Hyperscale Cloud,” Thailand’s first locally owned and operated hyperscale cloud service powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, designed to support AI, machine learning, and big data workloads for public and private sectors.

Launched nearly a year after AIS announced the deployment of Oracle Alloy in its data centers, the platform offers flexible auto-scaling capabilities and end-to-end support for emerging technologies. The service targets Thai enterprises with localized offerings including Thai-language contracts and billing in baht to mitigate foreign exchange risks.

A key advantage is that all data processing occurs within Thailand’s data centers, governed by Thai law, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and data sovereignty regulations. AIS Chief Enterprise Business Officer Phupa Akavipat emphasized the importance of local data storage for AI’s massive data needs, underlining the need for Thailand’s digital sovereignty and risk mitigation.

“We believe Thailand must build its own AI capabilities to guarantee long-term technological sovereignty and resilience,” Phupa said. “Digital infrastructure owned and operated by Thais is vital for national development in the digital era.”

Additionally, AIS launched a network-as-a-service (NaaS) solution that allows enterprises to independently manage and configure network usage through a self-service portal. This service supports seamless integration with AIS Cloud via fiber optic, 5G, and other connectivity options both domestically and internationally.
